Discussion:It is interesting to have discovered the genus in Venezuela. The type was collected by Spruce near Manaos, Brazil. The species has also been collected in the state of Para. The leaves of the Venezuelan plant are somewhat less narrowed at base and apex, but the plant is surely this species.
