Species Description - Much like no. 9 [Poa languida Hitchc.]; ligule 0.6–1.5(–3) mm; spikelets 3.5–5.5 mm, 3–5-fld; lemmas green, membranous, distinctly 5-veined, lance-ovate, 2.4–3.9 mm, acute or acuminate at the scarious tip; anthers 0.9–1.5 mm; 2n=28. Woods and clearings; Nf. to n. Mich. and Minn., s. to Pa. and in the mts. to Va.
