Discussion:5b. Heliamphora tatei Gleason var macdonaldae (Gleason) Maguire, stat nov Heliamphora macdonaldae Gleason. Bull. Torrey Club 58: 367. 1931. Type. Top of Peak No. 7, Mount Duida at 7100 ft alt, Aug 1928-Apr 1929, G. H. H. Tate 1022 (holotype NY). Known only by two collections, both from Cerro Duida, it seems best to hold these specimens that are internally glabrous on the upper portion of the pitcher as a variety of the otherwise widespread prevalent pubescent populations.
