Description:Species Description - Distinctive because of the linear-oblong fruit with a discoid rotate stylar apparatus, this species is set apart from the other members of the section C. cuneata is the only representative of the group thus far known beyond the periphery of the sandstone areas of the Guayana Highland. It is coextensive with C. erassifolia PI. & Tr. and with C. pusilla Steyerm. in the Pakaraima Mountain area of the Highland in western British Guiana and possibly adjacent Venezuela, Further, it is found in sandy mostly riverine sites in lowland British Guiana, French Guiana, and would seem likely to occur in intervening Suriname.
