Description:Distribution and Ecology - Distribution. Originally known only by the unicate type collection made on Cerro Duida, the range of the species is now extended to Cerro Paru and Cerro Sipapo. Gleason attributes (Bull. Torrey Club 58: 452) relationship of the genus to the genera Rusby anthus and Macrocarpaea.VENEZUELA. Territorio Amazonas: Cerro Duida, G. H. H. Tate 462 (holotype NY, unicate). Cerro Parú: 1600 m alt, Rio Ventuari, 11 Feb 1949, Phelps & Hitchcock 468 (NY). Cerro Sipapo, Rio Cuao: shrub 3 m high, flowers green, thickets. Lower Caño Negro, 1400 m alt, rare, 25 Dec 1948, Maguire & Politi 27921 (NY, VEN, S, RB); shrub or small tree 5 m high, Caño Profundo, north branch. East Terrace, 1600 m alt, 8 Jan 1949, Maguire & Politi 28224A (NY, VEN, US); shrub 2 m high, flowers green, occasional in boulder breaks. Upper East Basin; 5500 ft alt, 20 Jan 1949, Maguire & Politi 28456 (NY, F, US, VEN, GH).
