Description
Distribution and Ecology - Distribution. A tree 3-20 m tall which extends from Venezuela southeastwards to the States of Para and Amapa in Brazil. It mostly occurs below 500 m but in Distrito Federal, Venezuela ascends to 1300 m. SURINAM. Tafelberg, Augustus Falls, tree 10 m high, 15 cm diam, flowers white, in mixed high forest, 15 Sep 1944, Maguire 24742 (NY); Wilhelmina Gebergte, forested valley of West River, 2-5 km S W of Juliana Top, 275-300 m alt, tree 20 m high, 35 cm diam, corolla pale yellow, 19 Aug 1963, Irwin et al 54905 (FHO, NY).
