Description:Distribution and Ecology - Distribution. Known only from the summit of Sarisariiiama, Meseta del Jaua, Estado Bolivar, Venezuela, in dwarf forest (Map 1). VENEZUELA. Estado Bolivar, Meseta del Jaua, Cerro Sarisariiiama: bosque enano, por encima y al borde de la Sima Mayor, 1320 m alt, 13 Feb 1974, Steyermark, Carreno Espinosa & Brewer-Carias 109035 (NY, VEN); 19-20 Feb 1974, Steyermark, Carreno Espinosa & Brewer-Carias 109237 (holotype VEN, isotype NY).

Discussion:Type. Tree 3-5 m tall, branches erect, trunk diameter to 1 dm, leaves ascending to erect, coriaceous, deep green and shining above, with sulcate nerves, grayish or buff brown below, young stems and petioles buff gray sericeous, flowers yellow, inflorescence 2-3-flowered, cumbre, Cerro SarisariƱama, Meseta del Jaua, porcion noreste, bosque enano atravesando zanjones hacia la Sima Menor, 1350 m alt, 19-20 Feb 1974, Julian A . Steyermark, Victoriano Carreno Espinosa & Charles Brewer-Carias 109237 (holotype VEN, isotype NY).
