The plants of the type collection of this species are ± larger than those of the type of M. wightii, being ca. 4 cm long, and the leaves having a size of 3.5 × 1.8 mm. The apices ofthe secondary stems are obtuse, not caudate. Aside from the size of plants, no taxonomic differences between type specimens were found (Fig. 8).
