Reported new to the Yukon by Shaw (1982) w h o mapped the Yukon localities for this species. In the Territory confined to wet siliceous cliff faces, often in association with P. crudoides. In North America both species have ranges centered in Beringia, with Cordilleran and Appalachian stations for the former.
