Description
Genus Description - Plants of moderate size, soft, shiny, green, yellow-green, yellow, or yellow-brown, in extensive mats. Stems spreading erect-ascending, irregularly pinnate; paraphyllia none. Stem and branch leaves similar: Stem leaves loosely erect or erectspreading, moderately concave, smooth or ± phcate, broadly ovate, acute and apiculate; margins erect or slightly recurved below, sermlate above; costa double, very short or reaching nearly to the midleaf; cells linear, smooth, not or somewhat differentiated in the alar regions. Branch leaves smaller, smooth to distinctly plicate, more imbricate. Perichaetial leaves gradually subulate from a sheathing base. Capsules erect and symmetric, narrowly oblong-ovoid from a short neck; annulus none; operculum high-conic and shghtiy rostrate; exostome teeth pale, smooth, bordered and trabeculate; endostome with a moderately high basal membrane, slender though keeled segments, and ciha none or mdimentary.
