Description:Species Description - Herbs, to 2 m tall. Leaves: blade bright green, the abaxial surface of midrib red, the margin reddish-brown. Inflorescences with narrowly boat-shaped bracts, these in one plane at more or less right angles to rachis, coriaceous, open, red. Flowers: perianth dull green mottled with yellow, orange at spiapex; ovary yellow. Immature fruits yellow, triangular, the mature fruits blue.
