Description:Species Description - Rhizomes short-creeping, covered at apex with narrowly linear, brownish-black, lighter-margined, shiny scales 3 mm long. Fronds ascending, bipinnate; petiole canaliculate, 12- 40 cm long, covered with dense, brown, ± caducous pubescence at base; pinnae 2 or 3 on each side, elliptic, 12-25 X 2.5-3.5 cm, terminal pinna present, the rachis similar to petiole; pinnules 20-30 on each side, sessile to petiolate, quadrangular, proximal margin straight, distal margin crenate, lower and upper pinnules reduced in size. Sori 5-8, located between crenations.

Distribution and Ecology - Common, in low areas and on slopes.
