Description:Species Description - Plants often blackish-green. Stem hyaloderm none or present in patches. Leaves short-ovate to long-elliptic, occasionally lanceolate, broadly or occasionally narrowly acute, often ± cucullate at the apex, not particularly differentiated at base; margins usually recurved; costa usually prominent on the upper surface and covered by ± quadrate cells; upper cells rounded-quadrate with papillae usually distinct (occasionally very coarse) but often lacking; basal marginal cells quadrate to rectangular, seldom in distinct rows, and the median basal cells quadrate or occasionally short-rectangular (sometimes transversely elongate), little bulging, not perforated.
