    Genus Description - Plants terrestrial. Rhizomes slender, creeping, covered with hairs. Fronds widely spaced, often climbing and spiny; petiole thick, elongate; blade 1-5-pinnate, the ultimate segments lobed or pinnatifid, glabrous or pubescent or glandular; veins entirely free. Sori round, located along or near margin, solitary in sinuses of ultimate segments; indusium formed by modified and reflexed blade margin.
