TYPE. Wurdack & Adderley 43565 (holotype, US; isotype, NY), terrestrial, locally occasional in scrub forest on sandstone dome on right bank of Río Siapa just below Raudal Gallineta (about 110 km from mouth), 600-700 m alt, Amazonas, Venezuela, 21 Jul 1959.

Description - Flowering 2 m high; leaves 14 dm long; blades 4 cm wide, slightly narrowed toward base, serrulate throughout; sepals to 27 mm long.
