Description:Distribution and Ecology - General Distribution. Greater Antilles, and continental tropical America from Costa Rica to Peru, Bolivia, and Brazil.Distribution in Puerto Rico. Apparently of wide occunence but often unrecognized because of its general similarity to P. pectinatum; recorded from Adjuntas, Barranquitas, Caguas, Cayey, Florida, Mayagñez, Naguabo, Ponce, Rio Grande, andVillalba.Habitat. On shaded rocky banks, ledges, andcliflfs, rarely epiphytic, at middle to rather high elevations (210-930 m), not common.
