Type. L. H. & E. Z. Bailey T-15, from Trinidad (US sheet no. 1,058,555), not A. C. Smith 10270 as stated in Fl. Lesser Ant. 2: 236. 1977.
This variety is characterized by having the sori inegularly elongate rather than round. T w o specimens from the Siena de Luquillo (without exact locality) in Puerto Rico have been seen.
