Distribution and Ecology - General Distribution. Greater Antilles, and continental tropical America from southern Mexico to Brazil and Bolivia.Distribution in Puerto Rico. O f scattered distribution in the Cordillera Central, with a single disjunct occunence in the Rio Abajo State Forest; recorded from Adjuntas, Arecibo, Cayey, Coamo, Maricao, and Yauco.Habitat. On mossy tree-trunks, rock-ledges, or sometimes in humus on steep, shaded banks, at middle to rather high elevations (325-900 m), sporadic but locally frequent.
