    Distribution and Ecology - S Oregon, w and s Nevada, California and Mexico. Open moist or seepy areas, river bottoms and banks, damp or marshy meadows, open mesic evergreen forest, infrequently ruderal in moist areas as irrigation ditches; widely distributed and locally common. Ca. 2500-8000 ft. June-August.

Larsen (1976) has recently noted the possible value of Lotus oblongifolius and L. crassifolius in revegetation following clear-cut logging.
