Discussion
Pickeringia montana Nutt. (1840); Xylothermia montana (Nutt.) Greene (1891). Only a few specimens with fruit are known. A herbarium ticket (UC) from Marin co bears the note “Pods mostly maturing one seed. Of 397 shrubs counted only 9 bearing fruit. These had a total of 15 pods.”
