Description:Distribution and Ecology - Distribution. Small tree to 4 m high, endemic on Tafelberg. Tafelberg: Kappel Savanna, southern base of mountain, uncommon, sandstone, alt. 300 m, 20 Feb 1961, Kramer d Hekking 2947 ([male][female] fl. fr. NY) ; rare shrub to 2 m. Savanna II, 17 Aug 1944, Maguire 24402 ([male][female] fl. fr. NY) .

Discussion:There is a well developed falcate appendix, 2.0-2.5 mm long, between the calyx lobes of the [female] flower which distinguishes this species from all other Crotons. Maguire 24402 has much smaller leaves than the type, and in many respects resembles C. essequiboensis.
