Discussion
C. chatelainiana Hort. p.p. CN n = 14, 21, 28 (as var. coriacea above; Randell, 1970). Most U.S. accessions are of this variety. A specimen from Davis, California, is possibly intermediate between C. artemisioides and C. eremophila var. eremophila. It has 3 pairs leaflets 3-4 cm and more widely spaced than usual in C. artemisioides. Symon’s (1966) key would place it with C. artemisioides but the aspect is more of C. eremophila.
