Discussion:This species is probably closely related to C. subserratus, differing only in the smaller leaves, shorter glands at the top of the petiole, and especially by the glabrous ovary. It is also related to C. lunelianus and C. sclerocalyx (Diedrich) Müll. Arg., both of central Brazil.
