Monographs Details: Croton nuntians Croizat
Authority: Maguire, Bassett. 1965. The Botany of the Guayana Highland. Mem. New York Bot. Gard. 12 (3): 1-285.
Family:Euphorbiaceae
Scientific Name:Croton nuntians Croizat
Description:Distribution and Ecology - Distribution. Known only by the type specimen.

Discussion:Croton nuntians differs from C. palanostigma by its three lobed leaves. The glands at the leaf base are adpressed into the side of the top of the petiole. This species is also related to C. gossipifolius of Trinidad and northern Venezuela, but differs in the size of its seeds (about 4 m m long) and by the fact that the tiny warts are arranged in longitudinal rows rather than scattered irregularly.
