Monographs Details: Mimosa dysocarpa var. dysocarpa
Authority: Isley, Duane. 1973. Leguminosae of the United States: I. Subfamily. Mimosoideae. Mem. New York Bot. Gard. 25 (1): 1-152.
Discussion:Apparently bicentric in United States: w Texas to adjacent e New Mexico; sw New Mexico and adjacent Arizona. Rocky hillsides, canyons, grassland, oak-juniper, often igneous-derived soils. Locally abundant and conspicuous. ?-7000 ft. July-Aug. (Sept.). N. Mexico.
Possibly this and the following represent closely related species. I have seen no intermediate fruit forms, and the ranges (U.S.) barely overlap.
