Monographs Details: Acacia longifolia var. sophorae (Labill.) F.Muell.
Authority: Isley, Duane. 1973. Leguminosae of the United States: I. Subfamily. Mimosoideae. Mem. New York Bot. Gard. 25 (1): 1-152.
Discussion:Var. sophorae is an Australian coastal form treated as a species by Black (1963) and Pedley (1963) and as a variety by Tindale (annotation). The leaves are usually broader, often apically rounded, and possibly more coriaceous than those of var. longifolia. Probably it is a coastal sand ecotype.
