Distribution and Ecology - Distribution. Presently known only from the type locality.

Discussion:The strongly marked Rapatea scabra obviously belongs to the sect. Paludosa, but is without known immediate relatives. The obtuse eucullate bracteoles occur otherwise nowhere in the genus.
