Monographs Details: Miconia dorsiloba Gleason
Authority: Wurdack, John J. 1967. Plants collected in Ecuador by W. H. Camp. Melastomataceae. Mem. New York Bot. Gard. 16: 1-45.
Discussion:The first records for Ecuador are Camp E-1130 and E-1293, both from the Cordillera CutucĂș, Santiago-Zamora. The caudate-acuminate leaf apices and smaller flowers (anthers ca. 0.8-1 mm long dry, rather than 1.5-1.7 mm) weakly distinguish M. dorsiloba from M. duckei Cogn.
