  • Description

Species Description - Glabrous, the branchlets elongate, slender, terete, densely leafy. Leaves 8 to 16 cm. long, 2.5 to 4 cm. broad, lanceolate, abruptly short-acuminate at both ends, acute, the margined petiole about 7 mm. long; thin, scarcely lustrous, sinuately serrulate, the venation not prominent, the principal secondaries strongly ascending. Racemes (in young fruit) terminal, slender, elongate, the rachis minutely downy, the pedicels 8 mm. long. A single flower exhibits lanceolate sepals 6 mm. long, the petals about equaling them.

  • Discussion

A plant collected at Huachi, 1800 feet, M. Cardenas, September 4, 1921, in flower (no. 1007), is probably the same, though the leaves are a little broader, oblanceolate and sharply serrulate.
