Description:Distribution and Ecology - Filaments sparsely branched, 14—16 µ diam., trichomes 8.8-11 µ diam.; cells uniseriate, quadrate to one-half as long as the diameter.

Discussion:The variety differs from the species in having smaller filaments, smaller trichomes, and the cells averaging longer with respect to the diameter.
