Description:Species Description - Trichomes relatively straight; cells cylindrical to slightly dolioform, deeply constricted, 4-4.5 µ diam., 1-2 times as long as the diameter, terminal cell conical; heterocysts dolioform, 5 µ diam., 8-10 µ long; spores single or in pairs, and contiguous to the heterocysts on both sides, ellipsoidal, about 10 µ diam. and 20 µ long, with smooth hyaline walls.

Distribution and Ecology - Growing in a ditch near Mayagüez, no. 1004, type; on plants in a pool between Hatillo and Arecibo, no. 1355.
