Description:Species Description - Families of 4 up to 50 µ diam. with tegument; single cells with tegument 24-26 µ diam., without tegument 13-17 µ diam. (up to 25 µ) in the colony, bright aeruginous; tegument homogeneous, hyaline, 7-10 µ thick.

Distribution and Ecology - Growing among other species of algae on damp rocks, Coamo Springs, no. 287 a, type.

Discussion:

The variety is especially to be distinguished from the species by the complete absence of lamination of the tegument and by the larger size of the colonies.
