Description:Subspecies Description - Shrubs, to 1 m. Stems: with fewer branches. Leaves: deeply lobed to nearly parted, segments somewhat wider than those of species and ± spathulate. Flowers: corollas with pinkish red center but whitish yellowish margins, as opposed to solid pinkish red in J. clavuligera subsp. clavuligera.

Discussion:Jatropha clavuligera subsp. peditipartita differs from J. clavuligera subsp. clavuligera notably by its flowers pink with white apex as opposed to solid pink and somewhat wider leaf segments. The morphological similarity of subsp. clavuligera and subsp. pedatipartita was clearly noted by Kuntze (1898).
