Monographs Details: Brosimum utile subsp. darienense C.C.Berg
Authority: Berg, Cornelius C. 2001. Moreae, Artocarpeae, and (Moraceae): With introductions to the family and and with additions and corrections to Flora Neotropica Monograph 7. Fl. Neotrop. Monogr. 83: 1-346. (Published by NYBG Press)
Discussion:The leaf base may vary to subcordate. This subspecies co-occurs with the apparently more common subsp. utile, from which it can be readily distinguished by the rounded to subcordate leaf base and the prominent smaller veins on the lower surface of the lamina. The latter feature can also be used to distinguish subsp. darienense from subsp. magdalenense.
