Discussion
The wood is frequently used for local construction, and also for fence posts, garlopas, vahareque houses/constructions, fuel wood, charcoal, beds, and plough shares.
Phenology. Flowering and fruiting all year, especially in May to Jul.

Distribution
From the Venezuelan states of Mérida and Táchira in the northeast and Panama in the northwest, the distribution continues down the Andean Cordilleras to northern Ecuador, with apparently disjunct distributions in Loja, Ecuador, the Departments of Huanuco and Junín in Peru, and the Department of Cochabamba, Bolivia. Occurs from (1200-)1500 to 2500(-3700 ) m alt.
