Monographs Details: Gradsteinia andicola Ochyra
Authority: Hedenäs, Lars. 2003. Amblystegiaceae. Fl. Neotrop. Monogr. 89: 1--107. (Published by NYBG Press)
Discussion:Gradsteinia andicola is easily recognized by its numerous longitudinal bands of bi to multistratose laminal cells. These bands are frequently difficult to separate from the costa. Other Amblystegiaceae species with partially or completely bistratose laminae have either a long, single costa, or well-developed limbidia all along their leaf margins.
