  • Description

    Latin Diagnosis - A T. hexaphylla subsp, hexaphylla foliolis nume-rosis, nervis tertiaris clathratis differt.

    Subspecies Description - Leaflets elliptic or seldom oblanceolate; secondary veins 18-28 pairs; tertiary veins clathrate, the apex long-acuminate to caudate, the base asymmetrical, one side obtuse the other rounded.

  • Discussion

    The new subspecies differs from the typical subspecies by the characters shown in the key to subspecies. The subspecific epithet refers to the numerous conspicuous secondary venation present on leaflets.

    Phenology. Collected in flower in August, and in fruit in November.

  • Distribution

    Known only from the Departments of Loreto and Madre de Dios, Peru, in lowland, seasonally flooded forest.
