    Variety Description - Different from other unarmed varieties of M. microcephala in relatively few (to 7-9) pairs of relatively long pinnae; corolla-lobes glabrous 1-nerved; color of filaments not recorded.

    Distribution and Ecology - Found in the form of arching shrubs at woodland margin, 350 m, known only from Cerro Mitú, near 1°N, 70°W in e. Vaupés, Colombia.— Fl. VIII-IX(-?). Map 43.
