Description
Description - Very narrow wings usually present at least in the center of the midrib below; true pedicels 2.0-4.5(-6.0) mm long; length of calyx including inferior ovary ca 5.5-6.7 mm (dry measurements ca 0.2 mm less); length of calyx limb, including the free hypanthium, 3.6-4.9 mm; fusion distance of adjacent lobes above the stamen attachment 1.0-1.9 mm.

Distribution
Cuba, scattered through the province of Oriente except for the east quarter, mostly in mountainous areas, and west into Camaguey near the north coast as far as a point north of the city of Camaguey. From low scrub forest and thickets, under poor conditions or in relatively dry areas, to taller forests in relatively moist regions; reported from calcareous places and serpentine barrens, and from near sea level to 800 m elevation.
