  • Description

    Variety Description - Differs very little from var dentata. Whole undersurface of the leaves softly stellate-pubescent with ascending or erect rays, numerous simple hairs being intermixed, often glabrescent; the indumentum, however, variable and sometimes lacking. Pedicels 1.0-1.7 cm long. Flowers dull red, said to be protandrous. Shrub ca 1.0 m tall.

    Distribution and Ecology - Colombia, limited to the plains of the Upper Orinoco-Rio Meta area; edge of forest, up to 100 m altitude.
