    shrub or treelet, to 3 m tall. Shrub or treelet, to 3 m. Petioles reddish. Hypanthium maroon-red; calyx teeth green; corolla pinkish-red but creamy-yellow near leading margin of overlapping petal; filaments cream, anthers yellow, slits brighter; style slightly sigmoid, stigma at same level as top of anthers. Immature fruit deep red-maroon, becoming deep purple. Proogynous. DNA, ETOH. Phenology of specimen: Fertile, Flower.
