  • Description

    Flowers cleistogamous; legumes glaucous, weakly depressed between seeds; peduncles, pedicels & calyx base purplish; stems erect, purplish, glaucous, 15-40 cm tall; leaves dark green above, glaucescent below; xylopodium subterranean, horizontal, to 1 m. or longer. Larvae frequent within legume eating seeds. Phenology of specimen: Fruit.
