  • Description

    Pileus 2-4.5 cm broad, convex to plano-convex, moist, finely subvelutinous to finely subtomentose, becoming areolate, sometimes irregularly and shallowly pitted, tan to leather brown (6E6,5,4), without projecting sterile margin. Flesh white, uncahnging, with mild odor and taste. Hymenophore tubulose; tubes white at first soon orange white (5A2); pores concolorous, apparently not staining. Stipe 5-8 cm long, 5-8 mm broad, ±equal or broader below, white with gray to black scabers and often scabrous ridged, white mycelium at base; interior white, solid, unchanging or developing yellow tones with age and becoming hollow.
