Growing on a cut bank of the highway and on barrens of Bridger Formation. Heavy clay soil.

Description
Plants similar to E. brevicaule Nutt. of Uinta County. However with white flowers; tomentose scapes or stems; and apparently longer involucres with longer lobes. The features of white flowers and tomentose stems are parallel those of E. b. var. promisuum Welsh of Carbon County, Utah. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
