(16°33'S;61°40'W) 450m. Rolling plain of
precambrian shield; mosaic of semideciduous
forest, wooded savanna and savanna wetland.
Tree, Ht 8m, DBH 30cm, bark corky with
wide, longitudinal grooves and ridges,
tortuous, deciduous, leaves clustered at
the tips of branches, with latex. Growing
in low scrub with cacti and spiny legumes
on edges of granite outcrops.
