Dear Doctor Hunzikert
I have just received the package with the four specimens of Peperomia
(nos*. 106l8, 10677* 10806f 1108?) which yon sent* / These specimens show
some differences in size. No. 10618 being largest. I do not think this is
significant nor do I find other essential differences in the specimens. I
believe they all represent the same species. I would call them P. santa-
elisae C.DC. which I so far believe to be the same as P. stuckertii C.DC. •
I have not seen the type specimen of the latter species but on the basis
of the photograph of it and the description, I cannot differentiate the
two species* ££ P» Stuckertli should prove to be d£?íereñt "then It is
quite possible that these specimens should be given that name* Unfor-
tunately, deCandolle’s descriptions were not as complete as they might
have been in the latter years of his work so that it is seme times difficult
to compare certain characters.
If you have some other interpretation of this material, I would be
glad to have your opinion which would help me in my understanding of the
species.
With beát personal regards, I am,
Sincerely yours,
(T.G.Yuncker)
