Long. T. 24N, R. 10E, SW1/4 [ and adjacent portion of
the NW 1/4], NW1/4 NE1/4 SECT. 33 Oregon. North,
northeast and east-facing slopes along west side of
Illinois Route 2, south side of southern entrance road to
the Stronghold and Blackhawk Presbytery and camp.
Elev. 211-225 meters (692-738 feet). Sandy soil with
humus and clay over sandstone.
Mesic upland forest margin with Celtis occidentalis,
Geum canadensis, Ostrya virginiana, Smilax hispida,
Ulmus rubra, Viburnum prunifolium. Occasional shrub
1.5-2 meters tall; fruit green with pink tint.
