Description
Pileus black becoming gray, velutinous at first, matted with age. Flesh white staining pinkish gray then black. Tubes white, bruising reddish brown then black, eventually pinkish brown. Stipe white above when young, gray to black downward, eventually nearly black overall, with interior white above, gray to black below. Spore deposit pinkish vinaceous.
