Castilleja indivisa Engelm.
Tips of bracts bright red-orange, tips of
sepals paler red-orange, corolla lobes green,
stigma exerted; being visited by Bombus sp.
Evidently introduced into shallow borrow pit ca.
m deep X 35 m in dia. (ca. 16 yrs. old) along
gravel road in mixed pine-hardwood forest just
off LA 3042 ca. 5.8 mi N of jet. LA 3042 in
Ville Platte, Sec 29 T3S R2E. Sandy clay. Pop-
ulation of between 500 and 600 plants! First
collected here in 1998 by Dupre (LSU).
