Dear Dr Smalls-
I am enclosing ywo specimens of Clematis, the one
with wlte flower is fairly common around Jacksonville**and r took
it to he Yiorna reticulata, hut Mr Erdman West, Gainesville, told
me that that spcies has purple flowers and that he did not know iff
any white-flowered Viorna. On looking it up again, I ?find that
Neither you or Chapman describe a white form.
The other one, withut flower, I have never seen except
in one spot on I*ort George Island. It is a much more luxuriant
and more Vigorous grower than any other that I lave ever seen else-
where, hut I have never been able to find it in flower. I have
three “beautiful plants of it, b growing on my ibace and as I have
had them for more than a year now, they should certainly bloom
this summer, especially as they were large plants when I transplant©
ed them. Please identify them for me.
